Along the dramatic Serra de Tramuntana, where limestone cliffs plunge into the Mediterranean and ancient olive groves line the trails.
Mallorca by UTMB sends runners along the stunning Serra de Tramuntana mountain range, a UNESCO World Heritage landscape on the island of Mallorca. The course follows ancient stone paths through terraced olive groves, climbs to dramatic limestone peaks and offers spectacular views of the Mediterranean coastline.
The Serra de Tramuntana, Mallorca's mountainous spine, is a UNESCO World Heritage cultural landscape of extraordinary beauty. Mallorca by UTMB traces a route through this iconic range, starting from the charming town of Sóller. Runners follow ancient dry stone paths called camins, climb through terraced olive groves that have been tended for centuries and ascend to rocky limestone peaks with panoramic views of the deep blue Mediterranean far below.
The terrain is varied and technical: narrow cliff edge paths, rocky scrambles, shaded forest trails through holm oak and pine, and open ridge running with exposure to both wind and sun. The limestone karst landscape creates a uniquely rugged character, with dramatic gorges, hidden coves and the ever present backdrop of the sea.
As part of the UTMB World Series, Mallorca by UTMB combines world class trail racing with the island's legendary hospitality. After the race, Sóller's orange groves, waterfront cafés and the golden light of a Mediterranean sunset provide the perfect recovery setting.
