Circle the sacred slopes of Japan's most iconic mountain on trails winding through ancient forests and volcanic terrain at 2,500 meters.
Mt. FUJI 100 sends runners on an unforgettable loop around the base of Mount Fuji, Japan's tallest and most revered peak. The course traverses ancient forests, volcanic rock fields and highland trails with ever present views of the perfectly symmetrical cone rising above.
There is no mountain quite like Fuji, and there is no race quite like the Mt. FUJI 100. Starting from Fujiyoshida, runners embark on a circumnavigation of Japan's most sacred peak, tracing trails that weave through the Aokigahara forest, cross rugged lava fields and climb to exposed ridgelines on the mountain's flanks. The constant presence of Fuji's iconic silhouette, framed by cherry blossoms in spring or dusted with snow, elevates every step.
The terrain is as varied as it is demanding. Runners move from soft forest floor to sharp volcanic rock, from gentle lakeside paths along the Fuji Five Lakes to steep technical climbs that test both legs and lungs. The altitude, reaching above 2,500 meters in places, adds a further layer of challenge to what is already a formidable course.
More than a race, Mt. FUJI 100 is a pilgrimage through one of the world's most spiritually significant landscapes. The impeccable Japanese organization, the warmth of local volunteers and the profound beauty of running in the shadow of Fuji make this an experience that stays with you long after the finish line.
