Paraty Brazil by UTMB

BRA Paraty , BRA | 17 Sep - Sep 20, 2026

Where the Atlantic Forest meets the sea: run through UNESCO heritage trails, from jungle peaks to coastal paradise in Paraty, Brazil.

Paraty Brazil by UTMB immerses runners in the breathtaking landscapes of the Serra da Bocaina National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site blanketed by native Atlantic Forest. Courses from 7 km to 108 km weave between ocean and mountains, crossing the historic Trilha do Ouro, a centuries-old Portuguese gold trail.

Set between Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo on Brazil's stunning southeast coast, Paraty Brazil by UTMB is a trail running experience unlike any other. The courses traverse the Serra da Bocaina National Park, a vast UNESCO World Heritage reserve of over 100,000 hectares, where dense Atlantic Forest, cascading waterfalls, and colonial history merge into a single extraordinary adventure.

The flagship PTR 108 covers 108 kilometers with nearly 4,850 meters of elevation gain, taking runners from mountain ridges deep into the forest canopy and back to the coast. A highlight of the longer distances is the legendary Trilha do Ouro, a historic Portuguese mining trail with cobblestones over 200 years old, hidden beneath the jungle. Shorter formats of 58 km, 34 km, and 25 km offer equally immersive experiences through this biodiversity hotspot.

Paraty itself, a perfectly preserved colonial town framed by emerald mountains and turquoise waters, provides a finish line setting that few races in the world can rival. The fusion of tropical wilderness, cultural heritage, and the warm spirit of Brazilian trail running makes this event a true gem in the UTMB World Series.
