From the cloud forests of the Choco Andino Biosphere to the cobblestones of Quito, trail running at altitude through Ecuador's living biodiversity

Quito Trail by UTMB is the first UTMB World Series event in Ecuador, starting from the Choco Andino de Pichincha Biosphere Reserve and finishing in downtown Quito, a UNESCO World Heritage site at 2,850 m. With distances from 7 km to 77 km, runners descend from deep jungle trails and river valleys through one of the most biodiverse ecosystems on earth.

Quito Trail by UTMB brings the UTMB World Series to Ecuador for the first time, offering a trail running experience unlike any other. The courses begin in the Choco Andino de Pichincha Biosphere Reserve and finish in the heart of Quito, a UNESCO World Heritage city perched at 2,850 m in the Andean foothills. Five distances from 7 km to 77 km (4,450 m D+) cater to every level of ambition.

Runners traverse deep jungle trails, cross river valleys, pass the Chirinchos waterfall, and emerge into the colonial streets of one of South America's most captivating capitals. The terrain shifts dramatically: from lush tropical canopy and muddy singletrack in the biosphere reserve to exposed Andean ridgelines and urban cobblestones. The altitude, starting high and rarely dropping below 2,500 m, adds an ever present physiological challenge.

Quito Trail is a celebration of Ecuador's extraordinary natural and cultural heritage. It offers an immersion into one of the planet's richest biodiversity hotspots, wrapped in the warmth and energy of Ecuadorian hospitality, with every finish line set against the backdrop of a city built on Incan foundations.
