The course traverses Table Mountain National Park, fynbos covered hills, historic wine estates and dramatic coastal trails with views of both the Atlantic and Indian Oceans from Africa's southwestern tip.

RMB Ultra-Trail Cape Town sends runners into the Table Mountain National Park and surrounding reserves, where the iconic flat topped mountain, pristine fynbos vegetation and rugged coastline create a race setting of extraordinary diversity. The course climbs to the summit plateau of Table Mountain, descends through indigenous forest and traverses the Cape Peninsula with views of the crashing Atlantic below.
The fynbos biome, unique to the Cape Floral Kingdom, is one of the most biodiverse plant communities on Earth. Running through this landscape of proteas, ericas and restios, with the scent of wild herbs on the breeze, is an experience for all the senses. The terrain alternates between rocky mountain paths, soft sandy trails and technical coastal sections.
