Ultra-Trail Mount Yun by UTMB takes runners through the sacred mountain landscape of Mount Yun in China. Ultra-Trail Mount Yun is trail running as meditation. Set in the sacred mountains of China, the course winds through a landscape steeped in Taoist tradition, past ancient temples, stone carved staircases and pavilions perched on misty precipices. The peaks are often shrouded in cloud, giving runners the sensation of moving through a traditional Chinese ink painting come to life.
The terrain combines ancient stone pathways with natural forest trails, creating a mix of smooth, worn steps and technical mountain single track. The climbs are sustained and the descents demand careful footwork on centuries old stone. The altitude and variable weather add complexity to a course that rewards patience and respect for the mountain.
