High alpine racing on Whistler and Blackcomb mountains, where Olympic terrain meets Pacific Coast wilderness.
Ultra Trail Whistler by UTMB takes runners through the spectacular high alpine terrain of Whistler and Blackcomb mountains in British Columbia. The courses climb through ancient coastal forests, traverse alpine meadows, and cross exposed ridgelines with sweeping views of the Coast Mountains, all on trails carved into the landscape that hosted the 2010 Winter Olympics.
Set in the world renowned resort town of Whistler, British Columbia, Ultra Trail Whistler by UTMB harnesses some of the most dramatic mountain terrain in western Canada. Runners start from Creekside and immediately face the challenge of climbing Whistler Mountain before descending towards the Village and tackling the steep flanks of Blackcomb, creating a course profile that is as relentless as it is beautiful.
The trails weave through towering old growth forests of cedar and hemlock, open onto wildflower filled alpine meadows, and traverse exposed ridgelines where the vast expanse of the Coast Mountains stretches to the horizon. This is terrain shaped by glaciers, rivers, and the raw forces of the Pacific Northwest, offering a running experience unlike anything in the UTMB World Series.
With multiple race distances and the electric atmosphere of a town built for outdoor adventure, Ultra Trail Whistler delivers a complete mountain running experience. The combination of Olympic caliber infrastructure, genuinely wild terrain, and the stunning natural beauty of British Columbia makes this event a standout on the global trail calendar.
