The Vietnam Mountain Marathon is a pilgrimage to the heart of northern Vietnam's highlands. Since 2013, runners have been drawn to Sapa's narrow trails, weaving between terraced rice paddies, bamboo forests, and the homes of ethnic minority communities who have shaped these mountains for centuries.
With distances from 10 km to 100 miles, the VMM offers something for every level of trail runner. The 100 mile course climbs 8,800 m of elevation through some of the most remote and breathtaking terrain in Southeast Asia. Expect tropical humidity, river crossings, and relentless vertical.
What makes this race unforgettable is the finish: perched on a hilltop at Topas Ecolodge, where runners celebrate with bonfires, music, and infinity pools overlooking the valley. It's a race that rewards courage with an experience like no other.
