Chuckanut 50k — A Pacific Northwest Classic

The 32nd edition of the Chuckanut 50k in Fairhaven, Washington drew an impressive 522 finishers on March 22. Local runner Will Murray claimed the men's title in 3:33:54 — the seventh-fastest time in the race's storied history, though still seven minutes off Francesco Puppi's 2024 course record.

The bigger story was in the women's race, where Andrea Lee pulled off a gutsy upset, defeating defending champion Jade Belzberg with a time of 4:19 to Belzberg's 4:22. Sarah Paxson rounded out the podium in 4:24. Lee's trajectory has been remarkable — from 9th place in 2024 to 3rd in 2023 to champion in 2026.

EcoTrail Paris — Urban Trail Goes Ultra

The EcoTrail Paris made headlines over the March 21-22 weekend with the introduction of a brand-new 120k distance, a strategic move bringing true ultra-trail racing to the iconic Parisian event. Nearly 18,500 participants took part across all distances.

Corentin Play won the inaugural 120k in 8:55:49, while Norway's Anne Luksengård Mjelva took the women's title in 11:28:32. On the 45k course, Rémi Thivolle dipped under three hours with a sharp 2:59:28 finish, ahead of Duncan Perrillat (3:00:39) and Romain Eliasse (3:04:22). Canada's Marianne Hogan won the women's 47k urban trail in 3:21.

Ushuaia by UTMB — Patagonian Weather Strikes Again

At the end of the world, weather once again had the final say. The Ushuaia by UTMB 130k and 85k races were halted early due to severe wind and rain in Patagonia, with runners granted finishes at their last aid station.

Franco Isorno led the men's 130k in 13:31 when stopped, while Barbara Gassmann was the women's leader at the 89k checkpoint. In the 85k, Peru's Remigio Huaman Quispe ran an outstanding 9:31, nearly an hour ahead of the field, and Mayra Esparza won the women's race in 12:56. Joaquin Narvaez and Anabel Oviedo Zelarayán topped the 50k in 5:10 and 6:04. Argentinian runners dominated nearly every podium.

The Big Alta — California Multi-Day

The three-day Big Alta event in Marinwood, California featured competitive fields across multiple distances. In the 50k, David Norris won in 3:43 ahead of Drew Holmen (3:50), while Klaire Rhodes topped the women's field in 4:12, narrowly beating Helen Mino Faukner (4:15).

The 100k saw Kellen Blumberg back up his Kodiak by UTMB 100k win from last year with an 8:18 finish, while Robyn Lesh — fresh off her Tarawera by UTMB 50k victory — won the women's 100k in 9:45. In the 28k, Ares Reading (1:51) and Tayler Tuttle (2:06) took the titles.
